Just heard another victim to the black dog as a result of RIF action. When is this madness going to end? Loyal, hard working staff simply thrown aside with no care by the company.
Whilst the ELT count their millions, the workers are suffering, they are frightened and burnt out.
Pretty sure black dog has to do with mental health/ depression based on my google searching.
I have to feel for them as I went through this 2 years ago and it's not a safe place. You are given your last pay check and then told to be on your way. Many people see this as failure and they take it very personally. I suspect a lot of ex TDC people are suffering. Many are still out of work, living in shelters or worse whilst they see and read about the ELT who made those decisions pilfer the company for millions.
What does “victim to the black dog” mean?
Was the person laid off riff’d? Or did they take their life after a lay off?
Remember we are a global company. Not everyone speaks the same slang.
