There will be pause. There is need to estimate damage vs gain. Next phase is almost inevitable but can be very different based on results. Main measure now is stock price (not financial impact or business impact).

I feel sorry for the sheeple who think its over with. It is not. My Belfast colleagues, all I hear is, “its done, its over with, we’re in the clear”. Two days later there’s articles about letting even more in NY and NJ.

Yes, phase 4 of round 1 of the mass layoffs are done. Phase 1 of round 2 of the next mass layoffs will begin around the May\June time frame and yet another round in the fall\winter.

Layoffs may have come to a temporary halt but now starts
P I P's
Next will be documenting trivial stuff in emails, asking questions about "how" you go about getting your work done, documenting any errors you make, if you are coming into the office, taking to long for lunch, seeing if your late.

They want you to quit and they don't want to pay you severance or unemployment.

Once attrition slows down. The layoff waves will begin again.
If you think you are safe, you are delusional and if you do stay on... you will get so much work and so much pressure put on that you'll want to prove yourself worthy, want to quit or have a nervous breakdown and go on leave, by which a week after you return, they will get rid of you anyway by saying they phased out your position, title or outsourced it to offshore.

It will seem like they actually care, when they are really setting you up.
Just my opinion...

No, they are not over. Not by a long shot.

The in person requirement is bad policy and bad for the environment. Already commuting traffic is horrible with 1/3 of workers in person at a time. Imagine traffic if 100% of workers were required in person all the time. Traffic would collapse.

Let us be honest. We have too many employees especially at higher levels.

Lay-off are done in the sense that the big hard cuts are over. They are not done in the sense that every single Fortune 500 company is continuously rationalizing staff even as they hire and invest strategically in the business. Will people in area where invested capital is high and ROI be let go? Of course! But the overarching fear for employees s/b gone. Main job losses from here on out will be due to the company letting go contractors exiting businesses and attrition.. for those who survived March you have time to reassess and if you don’t like this train you can get off at the next stop and take a different one. You have time. Breathe.
