Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

This just in....

CommScope, Lumen Technologies and Dish Network are facing extremely difficult financial situations and may pursue some kind of restructuring – including bankruptcy – as a result, according to ratings and analysis company Debtwire.

All three companies earned a ranking of 99 out of 100 on Debtwire's Likely to Distress (LTD) scoreboard.

"Debtwire's LTD score is the industry's first predictive score on leveraged corporate issuers and their likelihood of becoming Stressed, Distressed, or entering a Restructuring," according to the company. "The LTD score allows credit investors, sell-side dealers, and advisors to source new financing, restructuring, and trading opportunities by systematically tracking and predicting when corporate issuers will move through the Leveraged Corporate Lifecycle."

Stuff like this does give off some bad vibes about the future of the company. Just so so many people leaving. Sad to see but those at the top will continue to reward themselves until they can do so no more. If you're an employee, you'll be long gone from the company before they go.

Commscope is taking its last breaths as the company just removed employee phones from its offices.

They must have turned things around, CEO Chuck gets 16% pay increase over last years salary. 12.3 million for “turning things around” I guess the SLT is on top of it. I bet 200+ VPs and 500 Directors, are getting hefty raises as well.

I was told that the payment term was 30 days, and changed to 90 days few years back, now maybe 180 days. Small suppliers cannot without cash flow for 90 days, with the risk of comms in heavy debt, I am not surprised at all.

I know of people that deal with suppliers, materials etc. 100% is the case that vendors are concerned. They are hesitant to do business with CommScope as for the risk of non-payment. It is wrong to suggest a supplier may not receive payment at all but when it comes down to it and you only have funds that'll go so far, which supplier is then a priority to pay over another. I can see that happening before long.

Our vendors must be freaking out. Would you ship us product and give us 60 days to pay? If we file chapter 11, you’d end up with a worthless claim in bankruptcy court. I’d think that every vendor is demanding prepayment these days.

Well, well, well, this all but confirms it. No smoke without fire as they say. Trust what comes out in these articles over what comes out of the mouths of senior leadership team. SLT are massively out of their depth. Irrespective of the mistakes made previously by leaders before, I believe that this lot have a lot to answer for. They've had time to turn things around and make decisions that could have influenced the company position, and steered CommScope away from trouble.
