Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

No direction, no strategy

What is our path to future revenue growth? Is there some overreaching plan that I'm missing that does not include laying off more and more employees each year? I truly hope there is, because if that's the only strategy this leadership can come up with, we are royally sc--wed.

These layoffs are just a way to delay Jane's inevitable demise. She could not care less about how this might ruin some families, but instead she's concerned about getting more and more because that's how greed works.

Layoffs, as always, cause a stock spike, that spike however is not sustained unless you have something else. A product that no one else has or a service that’s better than everyone else.

Studies have proven that after the shock of the layoff is over with, usually the stock price starts descending back to where it was….UNLESS you have something else in play other than that.

Touting the latest global buzz word (AI, crypto, etc…) at that time does not work unless you actually have the chops to back it up. If the world starts doing “ABC” and you chime in with “We’re doing ABC too” which internally equates to “Ok, let’s talk about ABC, figure out what it is and if we can do it” does not cut it. You have to already BE DOING it.
