Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Turnover at Dell is Insane

I started in Q1FY23 and went through Dell Sales Academy with a group of about 35. I only know of 6 people that are still at the company. The high performers were laid off in under 2 years, most others left for higher pay than the pennies Dell gives us, the two people in Fed got their auto promotion to level 2, two people just got their first raise, and the other two are stuck in place.
The people that aren't in Fed are ki-ling themselves looking for a way out.
Dell trained us for 3 months (full pay + commission) to be good little Dell minions. With 15% of people left after 2 years, was it a good investment on Dell's part?
When I started in role, everyone I worked with had been here 5-10 years. Now it's all lifers (15+ years) or new hires. What has happened to this company in the past 3 years?

Well, don’t worry everyone- Mike and Jeff sleep very well.

They continually hired sales academy kids to replace tenure that was laid off and no one wants to stick around and train their replacements that get paid less and have no clue what they are doing.

Long-timers didn't get to spend 15-20+ years in the one company by fooling every manager they worked with. I know plenty of people who found themselves in roles they never applied to because of constant reorgs.

"The long timers are too comfortable in their roles to leave. "
The long timers are quite often waiting for a WFR offer. If you already have enough put aside for retirement, you might as well bide your time. How do I know? I was one of them.
Unfortunately some of these folk have had enough of the BS and decide to leave without a pay-out.

The top performers usually don't stay. Dell randomly caps commission and if that happens one time the most talented people leave almost immediately. Most will not get burned more than once.

The people who stay there more than a few years morph into weird people. Gossipy, short attention span, randomly blurting out industry buzz words, bragging (literally bragging) about filling out spreadsheets on vacation. No sane person will stay except for the money.

What's happened in the past 3 years? Entire teams were laid off; and those left have been told to take up the slack. Experienced employees/managers were laid off and either replaced with people who have no idea what they're doing or not replaced at all (as part of the hiring freeze). The long timers are too comfortable in their roles to leave. Others have left because they figured out they could get paid a lot more somewhere else. Some of us have been looking for other jobs; but are stuck at Dell for the moment because the job/tech market su-ks (at least for my area of expertise).

The lack of respect and working scared are a few good reasons. The actual lack of leadership is the main way for me. These are not leaders. These are guzzlers.
