Here are my best tips for you based on experience as a resume consultant
Formula for writing a good PDS:
Business result “by” what you did to get that result
Business result: This is how you made or saved the company money. Think about it this way: Why does a for-profit company like XOM pay someone your salary to do your job?
Examples:
- Increased profits by $x (makes the company money) by optimizing x well.
- Increased employee retention (saves the company recruiting money) by improving culture scores by 6%.
- Decreased the risk of an expensive lawsuit (saves the company money) by minimizing the risk of x.
- Increased sales by $x (makes the company money) by bringing-on new fleet business.
- Decreased costs by $x (saves the company money) by playing a crucial role in an MBU-wide contracts review
- Increased efficiencies, which is estimated to save the company $x per year, (saves the company money) by implementing a new software system.
I hope this helps. Good luck all.
