Is something going on, like a quota for write-ups? They are suddenly writing up a lot of people for minor infractions. Some straight to a final with no warning. Its not happening to problem employees, just seems to be random. They are doing it to DS and ASMs too. Everyone is on edge now. Are there layoffs coming?

This is a common tool used to get rid of tenured, higher paid hourly employees.
Write ups don’t motivate anyone. They’re just used for documentation, so the employee can’t say they were unjustly let go.
Does everyone meet in the basement of a house to discuss the world wide plans this retail strategy ?
All of the major retailers are in an informal agreement to cut staffing to minimal levels and force the pay for associates down. Same reason why they support open border policy, to drive down labor price by saturating the labor market.

I have not heard of any Ds or Asm getting written up for minor infractions. It might just be your store. Your store manager or district manager could be tough on enforcing policies.
It’s called accountability DS walk around let departments they are over get totally trashed and have 0 answers .
The beatings will continue until morale improves. They lead with fear, because that is all they have left. I've never seen a more dysfunctional and toxic Lowe's work environment.
