To those who have been laid off, how did you return your laptop?

Throw it in the turtle pond on campus and take a photo to send to Oasis...
You give your laptop to a mover to move? That just astounds me.
Small, expensive items do not go with movers. They are stolen. We always keep two bins of important electronics. I even pull the hard drives out of my servers to put in there (and let movers move just the server).
It's very likely stolen by the moving company, and it sounds like this was in the past and you never followed up on it. If you had a police report you could provide that to the company.
Do exactly what they expect you to do via their guidance. Why risk severance?
I lost the laptop. One the acquisition happened and I was given a transition letter, I closed the laptop and never opened it. I worked from my phone. I paid movers to pack my stuff as I moved to another state. Now I can't find the laptop anywhere. What should I do?
Ask for Saturday overnight delivery, the cost is ridiculous,it was a last FU for me to Broadcom.
