It is none of Citi's business to know what we do on the side as long as there is no conflicts with Citi.

Yes, there should be a section in Compliance For You where you can disclose businesses and partnerships outside of work. In general, as long as it's not a conflict with Citi, there's no issue. However failing to disclose that you have an external business could lead to policy violations. This sounds harmless, but I've seen people terminated for operating side hustles that could be perceived as a conflict.

Does Citi consult you when they are embarking on a new business? If not then I don’t see why you would need to tell them about your side business. People please understand Citi does now own you. You are in the business of selling your time and Citi is in the business of buying peoples time. Start your business don’t tell anyone and I hope your business grows to where you can quit Citi if you want to quit.

Go for it. I think Shadman has a couple. It is better to talk to HR to see if there are any limitations.

Someone I know has a very successful business, which he did not declare. Citi HR came calling after 9 years. He resigned, as his business does a couple million a month of revenue.
