Today I was informed by an individual who is intimately close with someone two levels down from Jane, that they will continue to routinely layoff folks in very small amounts for the foreseeable future; this is part of Citi's so called "refinement and tweaking process".
Furthermore, I was informed many senior MDs are extremely frustrated by these changes, which has caused a lot of in-house fighting, eroded the already fragile trust among competing LoBs, and exacerbated the longstanding ill feelings and discontent the senior leadership have with their counterparts.
It's comical to see Citi's executives and senior leadership who are being paid millions of dollars a year, manifest unparalleled incompetency that would even perplex the deaf and d-mb.
The solution to Citi's problems is as clear as crystal water; they must, they must, they must begin to methodically layoff longstanding MDs who have a reputation to play political games, which would account to more than 2/3 of them. Once these toxic MDs have been purged, then and only then! can they begin the long journey to rebuild the company.
