Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

15K to Go...

The bad news is, by the end of this week, some 5,000 people who worked for Citigroup in September will not anymore, including some 1,500 managers. The good news is, if you still work for Citi on Friday, you’ll get to for at least a little longer.

The further bad news is that another 15,000 of you will not be so lucky—if working at Citi can be said to be lucky—by some time in 2026.

So what? So what really? Everything has two sides, the good side of this layoff experience is that it taught me never never stay loyal to a corporate job. Stay loyal to yourself, your family and friends. An US corporate job is just a job. Keep learning new knowledge, do not take things too personally as you are not considered as an individual, always be the best and always ready to find a new job. I rather learn this now than later.

I have a feeling that more than 5k have already been let go.

… and your point is? Besides offering no real insights about anything, do you find fulfillment and joy in spreading misinformation? Is causing panic your new private pleasure? Do you even work for Citi? I hope the 30 seconds spent reading this reaction to your pointless comment get you the excitement and attention you so desperately need.
