The new CEO is a copy of the last CEO. An accountant with an MBA who was promoted because of DEI and was hired because of nepotism.

Why does this company repeat the same mistakes over and over an expect a different result? we already know how these accountant CEO types turn out and it’s not good. Has the board of directors not learned anything over the last 15 years?

These Bean counters do nothing but outsource everything but the kitchen sink. They will have the entire engineering department moved to Shanghai or Bombay etc to save a dollar.

The odds of Boeing recovering was slim to begin with, but it’s doomed with this type of CEO.

Right, if Calhoun were forced out, he would already be gone and replaced as quickly as the previous CEO. This is just Boeing and Wallstreet smoke and mirrors.

The next several quarterly reports will be the worst ever. Don't want to taint a new CEO with that. Will announce a new CEO later in year and then announce something else to make it look like Boeing is in great shape again and all will be well. Like a new airplane development program announcement. Of course, it's all just BS just to increase stock price. Boeing is now irrelevant in all things and nothing is going to change this reality.

Calhoun made it known last July that he would be leaving the end of this year. That hasn't changed. Insider knowledge trumps faux news created to solely benefit the powerful and wealthy.

Several of the Airlines CEOs met with the board without Calhoun present and demanded he be replaced. he was forced out.

No one forced Calhoun to step down. He chose to do so entirely himself, lock down his huge severance package and enable his bean counter friends to hopefully get their huge severance packages while there is still money to be had before Boeing slips under the waves.

The mistake in your thinking is that the leadership cares about improving anything and saving Boeing. They haven't had any intention of doing this for decades. It has and is only and about personal wealth generation. The leadership recognized long ago that there isn't much point in competing with Airbus and rising COMAC. So it's get as many of our select people rich and let the company fail, be broken up and sold off. Heard this at many high level executive meetings over the years. What happened has and is the end game plan. You are wasting your time hoping and thinking otherwise. And I am truly sorry about this reality.

Only 13% of engineering graduates are female, and only 3% are black. Black engineers are represented at Boeing at more than 4x their graduation rate in engineering school. female engineers Our rep represented it more than double their graduation rate at Boeing.

DEI has never been about Equal representation. It’s about hire more blacks, hire more women and less white men. It’s openly discriminating against white men.

SP literally was hired at McDonald Douglas because her father worked there and was promoted by DEI. She’s never worked in BCA before she was in aircraft services.

There’s a cultural problem with engineering at Boeing. Most of the older engineers were pushed out into retirement with the voluntary layoff.

Management believed that they only needed engineers with five years experience and anything more was just costing the company more money so they consequently laid off many pushed many into Retirement.

That cultural attitude is a big part of the problem at Boeing. They don’t value senior people unless you made a lead or manager somewhere.

Secondly, the 787 philosophy of trying to outsource most of the airplane to save cost actually cost the company more money.

These problems are obvious to most of the employees but it’s not what management wants to hear.

hi Stephanie, who is a mirror image of the CEO who resigned and was not successful is not going to turn the company around. You need someone who understands manufacturing engineering not someone who does accounting tricks. Her background aviation is different than what BCA.

She is not a good hire for that position and by most accounts she’s going to be the heir apparent.

The board of directors is continuing the same mistakes they made when they hired Jim, McNerney and Calhoun. It’s as if they have learned nothing.

Boeing's problems are, in part, due to the fact that very short term profits have been emphasized since the merger instead of activity that produces real company value, and, as such, leadership has created a management structure that promotes and values beancounters over people with engineering and manufacturing experience. So the head of Boeing Commercial Aircraft is woman... replacing all the previous heads of Boeing Commercial aircraft, who were white males. I am getting sick of hearing that the fact that Boeing's workforce and management structure is not 100% white male like it was in the past is the source of all Boeing's (and the world's) problems. That is baloney. The woman BCA head just got here... so SHE is responsible for the Max and the stupid door plug? NO! The Max, the quality problems at Charleston on the 737 line, the circus of traveled work dysfunctionality in Renton, that is all a result of a McDonnell Douglas/GE management culture that is ruinous whether implemented by a 100% white male management structure or one that has a few women and black people in it. Get real, folks.

Ask Steve Mollenkopf to be CEO. He's an engineer, but he also has the guts to steer the company through tough times. In Qualcomm he fought off a takeover by Broadcom and won lawsuits against the FCC and Apple.

SP was named COO until the CEO position was vacated by Calhoun.

if you actually read any of the industry news then you would realize people are complaining that the next CEO is not an engineer and is another accountant. They would not be doing that if Stephanie Pope had not already named head over BCA and expected to be next CEO.

The critics being CEO of the Arab emirates and CEO of United Airlines. They both have already been critical of Boeing not hiring an engineer as CEO.

She WAS picked to be the successor before recent events.

If you would READ any of the industry news, customers are pushing the board to look to the outside and even to someone who is an engineer.

The question is can you trust the board to listen? I think they go to the outside, but I also think they still pick a bean counter.

She can’t take over officially because the current CEO doesn’t step down till the end of the year. But she will take over already been picked to be his successor.

You know Boeing does not have a new CEO yet right?

SP is now the head of BCA not Boeing as a whole.

So how exactly is the new CEO a copy of the old? Either you don't actually work there or are illiterate.

It IS likely Boeing will pick a carbon copy bean counter, but it has not happened yet. So there is hope, however small.
