More work every year being driven through a perpetually understaffed, overworked, and exhausted gas operations team. Many leaders say they are “listening” but the answer is always basically the same: “Wow that sounds really challenging. Yeah, everyone is super busy. Good luck! Just figure it out”. The past 12 months has seen a brain drain from the organization as people with ability have just had enough and moved to outside companies. Many others are looking to leave do to the high level of pressure to perform under a consistent, crushing volume of work.
When A major safety incident occurs due to poor design or faulty construction, the understaffing and pressure to rush will never be exposed as the true root cause. It’s become a toxic place to work. :(
