Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I wonder when my team will get hit. I’m not aware of anyone impacted in the big umbrella under my director. It’s odd and having so many of us remote, I was positive we were going to be impacted this quarter. My theory is that they are going to keep us as busy bees doing the work till they can outsource or offshore the bulk of our work. Once that machinery is running smoothly we will get the boot. Thoughts?

Yes -- not that this is surprising, but AI teams are meeting with various teams in Risk to show off what they can potentially do (which, as of now, is not that much).

Have a look at generative AI innovation lab updates. Lots of low level repetitive rule-based work will be tackled this year. This will have further impact in service centers like India.

I think, they think, they will replace a lot of risk with AI vs outsourcing. I personally think they'll try it in small doses and have to reasses that plan...
