The situation at Dell has deteriorated so much that it finally gave me the motivation I needed to roll up my sleeves and start looking.

ya. blame EMC people...real smart.
I was laid off in 2020 after 20+ years. Best thing that happened to me. Got the package and quickly landed a job with better pay, perks and culture. Much better work life after Dell.
Don't drink the cool aid especially when some zipper head manager tells you the "own it" and " Dell family, best in class... you're lucky to work at Dell" speeches.
I've been working here for about seven years now. I've heard this a few times, "Dell is not happy unless you're unhappy." Not sure why, you'd think it would be the opposite. Dell can sometimes be a toxic environment, but where I am the building is nearly vacant, and working here is way better now.
The folks that used to come in aren't here as much, therefore it's simply a nicer environment. Maybe Dell's EMC is the culprit. I think the culture of EMC isn't as desirable, for me anyway.
Lots of folks are just hanging around for a severance package; you hear that all the time. I think Dell has the potential to be a better place, but EMC has created a less desirable path.
Just my opinion...
F DELL and I still work in the field here in TX
Found a job within a month after getting WFR’d. Biggest blessing in disguise.
