Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Layoff impact on DEI Objectives

I was luckily not impacted, but noticed something interesting that the recent layoffs will almost immediately help Citi hit DEI goals outlined by Jane in 2022. Maybe just coincidence, but have not seen one DEI employee impacted.

I’m in O&T, out of the 10 people impacted that I know: 2 females, 8 males. Both females > 60 years old, one white, one asian. Of the 8 males all > 55, most > 60, all white non-hispanic.

“Goes Both Ways”

What’s meant by that? What’s one way, and what’s the other?

In the near future I expect white middle-aged males to be DEI. Of course, it won't matter if they're discriminated against because everyone seems to despise them. Being judged by the color of skin and s-x goes both ways

Don’t put us into DEI box 📦. We are not just some labels. Hire us if you see we have talents and quality to do the job.

How can we even talk about women being part of DEI when our newest Supreme Court judge can't define what a woman is? And biologically what is a person of color?

Post ID: @hav+1rKaNtzI Not Florida or Texas. Try NY, NJ, California, Oregon, Washington, Mass., CT. These are worker friendly states or pro-worker states. Definitely Not Utah.

Layoffs disproportionately affect people of color. This is why the pipeline of Black leadership is so sparse. This reorg probably undid all progress made in 2022

I know of two women of color that were let go.

I know 6 people who are impacted and 4 of them are woman and/or black . They may had been hired to meet DEI goals but they were let go due to poor performance.

We only know what we know.

@ope+1rKaNtzI - the older worker part doesn't matter if you're a white male

What is a DEI employee? Do you think that every single woman or black/brown person was hired simply because of some initiative? Do you understand how public companies work? What a pathetic way to look at life. The DEI hysteria is bordering on psychosis. Get a life and stop projecting your inadequacies on people who do not bother you.

This is conjecture at best. What makes you think that the DEI goals will not go in the other direction?

I’ve seen disabled veterans laid off, older workers, multiple pregnant women, and several minorities.

Stop while you’re ahead.

If true a lawsuit in a state like Florida or Texas could get some attention.
