other banks in wall street typically offer 2-3 weeks of salary for each year of service plus new york mandated 3-month notice period. so if you have been working for a bank for 7 years, you are usually entitled to receive 20 weeks salary plus 3 months paid notice period which add up to a total of 33 weeks. but there is usually a cap. so if you worked 20 years, you probably get no more than 15 months salary in total.
