Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Severance Question

I thought and per the handbook, severance is one paycheck per every year you have worked. Now I'm hearing it's only 12 weeks? I've been with Citi 28 years.

Note the wide variety of answers from the experts. No clear answer for NYC employees.

I have heard it's 90-day WARN plus a minimum of 12 weeks, but when I asked a follow-up question, some rude _____ acted like it was a stupid question.

2 weeks per year. But I remember this policy changed around 2010. It used to be 4 weeks per year. I am not sure if you can bring this argument to HR.

I believe it's 2 weeks for every year you've worked and capped at 52 weeks.

It’s in the Benefits section in CFY.

If you’re a US employee, just print out the Separation Plan Policy — that has all the details on what you’re entitled to, inclusive of 52 weeks of severance (max) and then thereafter it is negotiated how to pay the rest.

Minimum of 12 weeks; providing you don't work in a state with a 90 day WARN if impacted you should get the 60 day non working notice followed by 1 year salary payout. Hope at 28 years you can just retire if it's your time; good luck!

Severance maximum is 52 weeks so in your case even though you qualify for 56 weeks but you get paid for 52 weeks only
