Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Being laid off from SAP is not a bad thing

I got let go from my job in the last round, and honestly, I couldn't be happier about it! It was like dodging a bullet. Let's face it, SAP is like a dumpster fire, and I'm relieved to be out of there. If you are let go, consider it a blessing in disguise. Now's the perfect time to go out and find something way better. Trust me, you'll thank your lucky stars you were exited from that mess.

I think it will depend on the country but yes rsus are all vested and paid out in cash as income in that tax year

Do they pay out RSUs? How does that work?

That’s the difference between some of the employees and seemingly leadership. Employees are want to be proud of the work they are doing and the impact, while leaders here seemingly are more concerned about making shareholders happy as the stock price is essentially the key measure that is in use. It’s do as I saw, not as I do. CK may be regretting the emphasis he has placed on the core values as he is failing quite miserably at those himself. But hey, don’t worry—he is being rewarded handsomely while the team is on the chopping block. Do as I say, not as I do. Not a leaders-eat-last organization.

I am delighted to hear it worked out for you. Best wishes on the new role. It's a bit different for people in Germany though. We have been invested in the company for decades. We grieve and are thoroughly disappointed seeing SAP being run so badly. We thought it would be part of our children's lives. Not so. Around this time of year, schools in the Walldorf area promote a 'bring your kid to work day'. Most of my colleagues are ashamed to bring their children to work, due to the toxic atmosphere at SAP headquarters.

I dont want to call it a dumpster fire at SAP, but getting let go, and getting some money to find something new is not always a bad thing. When you go out to interview, no one will look at you as a low performer because you were RIFFED....interview well, and show passion to do something new, and you will do just fine. No reason to panic. Obviously young workers with less in the bank, and less tenure will feel it more, so lets support them then most.

Same. Pocketed 100k and took a month off before starting my next gig. Worked out well. It was time to move on anyway.
