Wishing for the demise of the company is counterproductive

Anyone wishing for the demise of the company is worse than the top leadership by a lot. There are a lot of families who depend on the incomes of the employees and a lot of patients who depend on the care delivery organization and a lot of health plan members who depend on the plan benefits.

Mean-spirited spiteful wishes of karma for the company as an entity is immoral. What any ethical person should be hoping for is a complete change in senior leadership and the installation of a leadership team who will lead differently - better - balancing the need between driving results and having a strong, positive culture. It can be done. There are examples in corporate America. Few - but they exist.

A good start would be flipping the leadership gender balance at the most senior levels to mirror the female to male ratio found at lower levels.

UHG proudly states those numbers on their internal memo's correspondence when the tout how diverse and inclusive they are as an organization. Former employee that constantly asked them to defend those numbers.

UHG proudly states that women represent 71% of their global and 76% of the U.S. workforce, with 40% of the top management levels of leadership female. Interesting that nobody has an issue with UHG discriminating against males based on the demographic that they proudly state.

I respectfully disagree. UHG and companies like it (Elevance, etc.) have become the biggest problem of the US healthcare system. They are the biggest obstacle to making it better, by buying up and stifling innovation, increasing friction between patients and providers, and siphoning off billions while adding little if any value.

Without UHG, all the people who work here would still find gainful employment. Healthcare desperately needs people who want to help. UHG takes advantage of that mass of good intent and redirects it to serve UHG first.

Those of us still here need to start questioning what we are doing, keeping this business model going until it can't go any more. I know I am. When will it end? At 20% of GDP? 25%?

Hello we have women at top leadership as we speak and they are just as crooked as the men. They collaborate and when asked how high, they jump higher, and bury their heads in the sand just as deep. In this company every CEO who has retired or moved off his position has done so because they are on numerous investigations or lawsuits for fraud etc. Or they are moved to the board. It’s standard practice.

Putting up with crookedness in defense of protecting status quo is why we are in this mess. You assume a change at the top will be different. Same people who selected this group will select the next. Rebuilding from the bottom up is hard, but necessary depending on the rot.

Thank you. I continue to stand by this statement.

Regarding the gender part, a neanderthal will crawl out and cry about women in leadership and want "proof" of women being more ethical - but we can just ignore that guy.

Let's consider: if 75% of the workers at an Associate Director level and below are women (you know - where all the actual work is getting done), and only 25% of people at a level 32 or higher are women - shouldn't that be addressed? Why shouldn't women make up 75% of the executives?

Women are significantly underrepresented in senior roles at UHG. And, unfortunately, the ones that have risen to the top have only done so because they act and lead like men (as that is what gets rewarded at UHG) - driven by the same greed, the same bad decisions, the same malleable morals, throwing around gross statements about "non-regrettable losses" when talking about riffing people. You haven't lived until you've spent a day hanging out with the people at those levels.

Those top 2 layers in particular need a significant overhaul. ASAP.

Let's address financial equality, not gender equality. Financial equality that is blind to gender, race, etc. Meanwhile uhg can kick rocks!
