Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

What guarantees a store is closing?

Ok what is the deal here with the 150 store closings? Are they just strictly underperforming or does it have to do with other factors? I can see locations within dead malls being enough of a reason to shutter, but what about like other competitors such a Dillards in close proximity?
I think that it should be strictly based off the figures. If a store doesn’t make a certain threshold over a year and the overall cost to run the store is unprofitable then yeah close it. There is a handful of locations I can think of that do very well, but are not in the best malls or locations.

It will start close to the end of the 2nd Q, then more perhaps into 3rd Q. Underperforming stores, leases that have ended, malls that are dead. No retailer closes anything in 4th Q, but Jan 2025 you have will another round before Feb 1st.

Ole Jeffery left Tony with a lot of mismatched checker pieces in the middle of a chess tournament. Good luck, Tony.

Are there really 150 storage closing? I know that’s what they said, and if what they said was true, that would be 50 per year. Supposedly the stores were notified yet no one has heard anything people are claiming that their store was notified, but they won’t say the name of the store. I think it’s all part of positioning to fight the takeover. They are in desperate times and taking desperate measures all thanks to Jeff.
