Young White Male Perspective At HP Supply Chain, Discrimination and Diversity

After carefully reviewing all the notes, I feel compelled to share my candid perspective on the issue of discrimination within the Supply Chain group at HP. Working closely alongside a black female colleague, I've observed troubling patterns of behavior. For instance, whenever Ernest passes by, he consistently ignores my greetings, choosing instead to engage exclusively with black colleagues in the vicinity. While he extends invitations to dinners and events to young black employees, I'm often left out unless I proactively raise the issue with my boss.

Additionally, when I expressed interest in participating in CENC, I was informed it was exclusively for females—a clear exclusionary practice. Moreover, my boss has indicated that I'm expected to be physically present in the office more frequently than black and minority employees because of Ernest's purported inclination to disproportionately lay off white males. This has fostered a toxic work environment characterized by betrayal and animosity.

Despite exerting extra effort and dedicating more time to my work, I find myself still not on equal footing with black colleagues. This situation undoubtedly constitutes discrimination. It's disheartening to learn that Ernest mandates job slates to comprise over 40% diversity employees, effectively sidelining white males, and potentially leading to a scenario where diversity overrides merit. This raises serious concerns about the true essence of diversity in our workplace.

I earnestly appeal to leadership to intervene and rectify this injustice. It's imperative that such discriminatory practices are addressed promptly to ensure fairness and equity for all employees.

This is my truth.

If you’re older, white, and male, you’re definitely going to experience discrimination at the large corporations including HP, HPE, and Boeing.
There is talk about raising the SS retirement age but the problem is that companies don’t want older workers on the payroll. Raising the retirement age will create a new class of homeless people who cannot find work due to age discrimination which is rampant in today’s corporations.

Dave and Bill would be rolling in their graves if they would see what supposed "leaders" like Ernest are doing to their company. What Ernest is doing is clearly discrimination and will without a doubt lead to a successful class-action discrimination lawsuit which will devastate the company and its reputation.

HP is quickly going to become a relic in IT history. I don't expect HP to be around 5 years from now.

I still can’t believe that dude mandated 3 days in the office. Even if you do t have teammates in the office and just sit in zoom calls. Pretty early indicator of his garbage leadership.

I am not white but I would think that's discrimination. Document the case with evidence and consult with a lawyer. Discrimination of any type should not be tolerated.
