Boeing isn't capable of successfully putting anything together and... And there's nothing wwrong with using suppliers either...if you know how to successfully work with suppliers. Boeing does NOT anymore.
The layoffs are usually after the contract when all these new hires, they tried to sway to vote for ratification for concessions get laid off.

Southwest Airlines making massive change to how it flies

Southwest Airlines has an airplane problem. Boeing can't deliver
the planes the airline has ordered,
which will slow its growth in 2024.
That's something CEO Bob Jordan talked about during its fourth-
quarter earnings call. "We also made rapid adjustments to
capacity for both 2023 and 2024 and put in place significant
network adjustments in response to changing demand patterns.
These changes reduced our planned 2024 year-over-year
capacity increase to roughly 6%, all of which is carryover
from 2023 network restoration.
So there will be no net new additional capacity in 2024 as we
work to mature our route network.
Boeing’s ineptitude is now dragging everyone else into their
smoldering pit of vile debauchery.

Bo-m Supersonic seems like something Boeing would put together. Almost everything on that plane seems to be designed by someone else. Very little vertical integration. They are just like Boeing, putting together parts. It's supposed to be "sustainable," which basically means you'll pay more money to offset your "carbon footprint." It's almost as if someone drew a picture of what they thought a cool plane would look like, and asked someone to make it for her/them.
Of course, never mind that Concorde looks basically the same and flew across the ocean in 3 hrs.
Left Boeing for SpaceX. No regrets...especially after reading what Boeing losers write here. Only nepo people, those near retirement and who have no respect for themselves still at Boeing.
Left Boeing for Bo-m Supersonic who are building airplanes that fly from NYC to London in three hours. We have already received 130 orders from airlines, including United and American. Better pay, better benefits, better work environment and much better leadership.

It’s only when such critical intellectual impairment is on full display
