Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Silver Lining

As bad as the latest round of layoffs are, at least there is one bright spot.

Teedra Bernard will still have a job.

If there is one thing that will enshrine the success of the company (no, not new products, growing revenue, or making sound acquisitions), it's div-er-sity. That's the secret to success - a company full of different types of people (as long as they think exactly the way Management dictates).

To the US veteran, thank you for your service. Your contribution is too good for TU.

This is clearly not a Teedra problem ! This is a business decision problem that has led to these financial problems Whatever intentions Teedra had for the good of the organization will only go as far as the environment she leads in. Bottom line is if senior leadership isn’t ready for this type of change, meaning real diversity - there will never be real progress.
But with all of the DEI staff that is being laid off in other companies, she should watch her back.

Anyone blaming DEI seems ignorant. It's because bad management put Transunion in a money bind. Now they have to shed salary.

Imagine being mad at Teedra and not Chris Cartwright. You can be big mad about the company "going woke" or whatever but things are not being gutted because of anything she is or is not doing.

Comments like that demonstrate how some people need DEI to keep their job because their only contribution is the checkbox they give a corporation.

Sorry to the other commenter, but having been personally involved in both the DEIB efforts and labor practices negation with Teedra, I can confirm that it is all smoke and mirrors with no real support for employees of any identity or background. It's for publicity and that's all.

Based on my best info, when a layoff happens based on broader business move -- not targeted individuals, but whole team-- typical discrimination and protections do not apply. Do check with legal professionals, but don't run into lawfirms promises and end up paying exorbitant legal bills, without any return.

Not sure how true or sarcastic this is, but as a protected veteran, didn't think they could get rid of me by a mass lay off, will have to seek legal advice. All my performance reviews have been 125 to 175%, never had one under a 100 and all my peers respect and leave great feedback. There is no way they can let me go for performance when I have covered for so many people and was never compensated for it.

Attempts to indoctrinate people with diversity and political affiliation will not be missed. These are taboo topics in the countries your jobs are going. Her hire was a red flag.

TU's diversity efforts is one of the few good things that this company has been doing for its employees. I'll miss it.
