They promote wrong people, they move people from department who have no desire to be in a new department nor having that carreer goal , they promote people who dont deserve it, and there is more that this company and its leaders are doing wrong. If you dont play their games such as come in and do the job with no promotion, they will actually offer you the option to quit, I never worked for such a gready, wrong leaders sitting in those chairs company as this is, no wonder so many people I know quit and never went back.

I am convinced that the person that I report to got the position because no one else applied for it. It's the only way it makes sense.
Yeah it’s terrible writing. My 5 year old writes more cohesively than that. Maybe that’s why SOMEBODY isn’t getting promoted…

The worst leaders in Field Operation Positions which all were Failures came from the Control Center. That has really hurt Field Operations in so many ways.
You'll spend a bit less than half your waking life working. Your career is a large part of your life. Since you'll probably have to work for decades, making it lucrative, pleasant, and interesting is in your best interest.
If you insist on treating it as a trial that must be endured, you're not being very smart.
Career culture is bullsh-t - stop making your life your career and you will be much happier.
When you move on from the bullsh-t your guidance counselor in high school sold you you will be much happier.
People who are happy with themselves as people tend to advance.
Unfortunately people who invest in their career always see themselves as lacking or needing to improve and end up unhappy, have no meaningful relationships.
Stop having a career and find meaning in your life and I will guarantee you will advance in ways that are much meaningful than what some dipsh-t manager or executive thinks.
Investing in careers are for people whom don’t have anything meaningful in their life to care about.

Actually, it's very common for the best at the front line to be terrible when they become leaders. In fact, there's a name given to this phenomena. The Peter Principle. People are promoted out of what they do best and ultimately they rise until they fail.
The higher you go in an org the more you have to know how to do "business" and the less you need to know about the intricacies of that business. The worst leaders I ever knew were people promoted from the front line who were not prepared for the fact that leading people is difficult.
I know a bunch of people who think they are undervalued and should have been promoted. They all blame other people ... it's their boss' fault for not giving them opportunities and exposure, or it's because other people su-k up or are a minority, blah blah blah. Ironically, this delusional nature with low self awareness is at the root of why they don't get progressive positions. That and terrible spelling and grammar.
My issue with the promotions at Enbridge is they have, in some cases, been based on factors other than merit. I know of 3 employees who were fast tracked to executive levels to meet a quota. They have not performed well, and it’s been detrimental to the company’s performance.
In addition, there have been a lot of “smooth talkers” promoted into positions well beyond their ability levels. It all comes out in the wash. Look at the worst performing areas of the company and look at the senior leaders in those groups. Are they leaders who know the details of the areas they are overseeing or are they leaders are there for other reasons like it’s a development opportunity for them or they are good at developing process.
In my 35 years in the workplace, the best leaders I’ve seen always knew the areas they managed intimately. Without exception none were generalists or process driven leaders.
I always try to promote people who exhibit fatalism and a refusal to own their own destiny.

Being quietly good at your job is the perfect way to remain in it.
Sometimes, yes, it's true. There simply isn't an organizational need for somebody in the next tier. This is usually the case when seeking to move upward with direct reports, but sometimes it's true for ICs as well.
But somebody being promoted instead of you is different. Ask yourself what the difference is. What did they do that you did not?
And don't fall for the typical self-absolving excuses like they were su-king up better, or part of the cliques... even if they are true - and they usually aren't - those excuses let you do nothing and blame others. That's a sure fire way to make it happen again.
You can market all you want, it will just irritate those who didn’t plan to promote you in the first place. Enbridge is the biggest rat race I have ever been involved with. Get out of this place as soon as you can.

Answear: yes done it all getting unjustified excuses why wont be promoted - explain please ? Is it me or leadeships or favoritism?!
Right totally agree with you , though have you been on the others side of the person who raised the voice about it ? As of why can tbe promoted all they get is excuses that cant be justified at all!? Sounds like not as you been already promoted, so share how did you get it not inclueding the hard work behind it !?
Sigh... alright. So let me get this straight. You think that the right strategy is for the company to promote somebody without any indication or clue that they are capable of the new role, and to hope for the best?
If you want a promotion, you demonstrate that you're ready for it. That's not doing the job for free. It's a bit of investment of effort on your part.
