For your own sanity, count on layoffs in all departments. Whether your group was already affected or not, whether you were told it's over or not, or whether you are already working as a skeleton team, do not assume you're safe. Being mentally prepared for the possibility of being laid off will serve you much better than being completely blindsided. I'm speaking from personal experience.

Post ID: @oip+1rAnNrMe The same can be said when you're interviewing for a job. Assume there are 5 job candidates interviewing for the same role. We all know the Employer already has its preferred or favourite candidates even though each candidate has a 20% chance of getting the job, with all things being equal. But we know all things are Not and never equal, since some interviewees are already preferred to be lead contenders.
Fun math fact: If 10% are being laid off, you have a 90% chance of not being laid off.
no matter where you work or how long you’ve been employed, assume you’ll be let go its just a matter of time. Assume this even if your company is rock solid. As the years go by save every bonus and pay raise to the side until you have a year salary saved up. This is a savings that you NEVER EVER touch.
This is true.
