Thread regarding Optum layoffs

CHC employees

I’m confused so not every division of Change Healthcare was eligible for a bonus? What was the criteria? I’m reading that some areas received bonuses and others did not. Not knowing why just reading seems like an unfair policy. Haven’t had my review but told don’t bet on a bonus.

I think I have finally pieced all of this together. In my department the ONLY people who received bonuses this year were previously eligible for a bonus via their job offer letter. Regardless of your job code, if you were not eligible for a bonus before Optum, you remain ineligible for a bonus as an Optum employee. All bonuses are negotiated in offer letters. People had to fight for both the salary and the bonus they were granted (or accept what was offered) but ALL OF IT was clearly documented in an offer letter. Without a written agreement via offer letter, I have heard NOTHING about this changing. Job class does not matter. I have Optum employees who are 27s who are bonus eligible and CHC legacy employees who are 27s who are NOT bonus eligible. I HOPE THIS CHANGES. I have also been told that Optum employees make less money than CHC employees so the bonus really doesn't matter...at the end of the year, they are basically the same. That said,I fully understand the frustration. I have said this in other posts numerous times...if you want a bonus next year, get it in writing. We only got half of our NEGOTIATED bonus, so if you expected 5%, you only got 2.5%...without knowing your negotiated bonus, Optum's cure t bonus struct will never work for you. Please reach out to your people leaders and get information on all of this. I hate hearing so many people are upset. Trust me, those of us with negotiated bonuses are NOT HAPPY. We got very little. It's very sad because we all worked so hard

Have you ever seen Glengarry Glen Ross? It's just like that. Some CHC employees are Ricky Roma and get the Cadillac. Some are Dave Moss and get the steak knives. Some are Shelley Levene and get fired.

Post ID: @1wab+1r9fJiGO That is highly inaccurate. Not sure what your beef is with CHC but there has not been a ton of lay offs for just CHC employees it’s been across the company. And at some point in the life of the business you are in it was acquired as well. The question had to do with bonuses and its criteria which is dependent if the product line was merged for 2023. Which is unfair loophole being used and we as leaders were absolutely told not to discuss not only bonus structure but also layoffs in general.

Many CHC employees have been, are being, and will be cut. That is the plan of the acquisition in the first place. IPA (independent process automation) has been a big purpose and replaces a lot of good workers.

Bonuses? Try having and keeping your job as your bonus.

Look at the leadership on your team…did they raise the concerns of no bonuses or just take hear say that your division was denied. Some divisions the leadership did not fight as hard to cover their own jobs and or potential for bonus. CHC Managers/Directors across the board are getting bonus but their teams may not.

Never compare pay. It sends you down a slippery slope of negativity. Always.

If I can trust my leadership I was told only CHC divisions that merged as a product under Optum in 2023 were eligible. It’s not a fair policy as we all worked towards the same overall goal and were Optum Insight employees as of April but that’s the loophole I was told being used. I could have been given false information but thats what I was told.
