They keep cutting staff but requesting (term used loosely) more work to be completed with aggressive timelines. This has all the signs of them wanted people to leave without waiting for a severance. Burnt out is an understatement. It’s a challenge when you care about the team and want to protect them when there is a new kind of war happening within the walls of Citi. I sure hope things settle down soon so we can stop the bleeding.

I smile every time a department pushes back on the project timeline, because they no longer have the resources to do the work.
- ) scheduled 1 on 1 meetings and the manager does not show up.
LOL I thought that was just my manager. I didnt realize this was a company wide thing.
The d-mb MFer has a weekly one on one, he knows its there and instead of rescheduling just doesnt show up and thinks its funny.
I had point 2 and point 3 for about 6 plus years at Citi. Im glad I got laid off. My manager was HORRIBLE!! I think she wanted me to quit but I never gave her the satisfaction. I got my 90 days and my severance so she’s probably losing sleep over it lol. Citi is not for the faint of heart but it does look good on my resume.
There are actual classes taught on this as a tactic. Now whether or not Citi has sent their management to them or not, I do not know. This is a very common tactic to get away with paying out severance.
- ) increase work, shorten deadlines. Make sure to use the words “you are goaled”.

- ) when you bring up something on meetings, the manager over talks you every time to shut down what you have to say OR minimalizes your points every time.
etc…
all psychological in order to foster low self esteem and just enough of a grey area negative environment while not crossing over into a “hostile work environment” so that you leave on your own.
