Potential Dublin Layoffs?

Rumours of the Dublin office closing in April and all the staff going fully remote.
Will this mean potential layoffs for the staff who are now full time remote?

Push the cost of work's real estate onto the employee. Great move for private equity.

Cool. Now if only we'd get one of those letters over here in FTL, so I could give up my d-mb and useless commute to the useless building.

The Dublin site is closing, confirmed today:

All,

As we further evolve our real estate strategy guided by general space utilization and an overall move towards a smaller global office footprint the decision has been made to downsize the Dublin office effective 1 April 2024. This real estate consolidation strategy has been implemented in other Cloud Software Group offices, including Cambridge and Paddington, with no negative impact to team performance or growth.

Any employee currently assigned to the Dublin office will convert to a remote work designation. In order to accommodate in-office work, including meetings, the ground floor will remain available including all workstations, privacy rooms, and meeting rooms. Floors 1 - 3 will no longer be available as of the effective date. You can reserve your workspace using the new booking tool in advance of using the office, Eptura Workplace. Meeting rooms should continue to be booked through Google.

The cafeteria will remain open, and drinks and snacks will continue to be provided. Given the access to food options in the area, food service at the cafeteria will be discontinued. If you need catering assistance for scheduled internal and customer meetings, we will be happy to assist. Please reach out to our Facility Manager, Andrew Watts, andrew.watts@cloud.com to make arrangements.

If you have any personal items in floors 1 - 3, please be sure to remove them by 29 March. Any employee that requires a full-time desk can put in a request by contacting our Facility Manager, Andrew Watts, andrew.watts@cloud.com. Please be aware that there are no part-time seat assignments. Desk assignments are only for employees that plan to be in the office five days a week.

We know that these changes might be difficult and appreciate your patience, but also hope this provides further work flexibility for the future. This decision allows for more employee flexibility in working arrangements and removes the mandatory requirement to be in the office five days a week. The ground floor seating and a few meeting rooms are still available to pre-book, and we encourage teams to align on similar working days a week to ensure teamwork and collaboration. You can reach out to facilities@cloud.com with any site-related questions, or to askHR@cloud.com with any HR-related questions.

Thank you,

Tom
