Thread regarding Lennar Corp. layoffs

Pushed out to PWC

20% of their tech folks were just let go. Another 78 or so people were pushed to accept an offer from PWC to change to consultants and keep working in their same roles until June.

I suspect its all about making the books look good and keeping things running but I get the sense that more cut backs are coming.

FYI there is still no CTO since Scott Spradley being fired earlier this year. That plus non-stop layoffs across the company this year and forcing the IT team to be in 5 days a week and a forced smaller bonus payout.

That's ok. All those offshore IT folks will fix it (said no one ever!).

It finally happened, Scott Spradley (CTO) was let go by Lennar. He left a messy situation in the IT department after getting rid of most of the technical talent and instead left a very unreliable application software. Way to go Lennar !

Scott Spradley strikes again! Moving from company to company, he brings along his entourage of ex-HP execs, ensuring a VIP pass for his chosen few. Why hire new talent when you can rely on old pals who owe their careers to him? And of course, there's Lee, dutifully filling spots with his own circle. Because nothing says innovation like hiring the same people over and over! Just count how many HP folks are now at Lennar.!

On top of the shittiness of the previous layoffs, I fear that the folks who are still on may not be on much longer. Going through this transition, we are being given almost no lead time to prepare for this transition where we are supposed to remain in control of core duties while PWC handles the legwork. The way it's playing out though is a mess. With little lead time, we're getting flak from PWC about things not being set up the way they should be for on-boarding. Of course they aren't set up correctly! We've had to speed-run a ton of new processes and have had no one there to test them and figure out what needs to be tweaked and what the new flows will look like when we work together. On top of this, we're being told that after the transition pivot, we won't even be able to directly contact PWC staff - Everything will be done through tickets. What? If I need to ask a question that should have a quick answer, I have to go through a ticket process? Ridiculous.

We're also getting hit up on the side by PWC asking for access to roles they shouldn't even have, and they're trying to bypass Security team for that. As well, they are pushing hard for access to roles which give them control over RBAC, and we've even heard comments from one of the PWC staff members about 'when we take over'. I really feel like we're being set up for a fall: Make it look like the on-prem staff fumbled the transition badly, then PWC steps in and says, 'We can fix this!'.

It's very tiring. I hope y'all are doing alright.

Scott is making Javier his chief ear officer and listening to him whisper these widespread changes as bringing in the uptick and making shareholders happy, supposedly.

Funny the college grads are mentioned. They start the day after Pwc takes over operations. 90 of them.

Scott Spradley’s track record is repulsive. He’s been involved in massive disruption and layoffs at HP, then Tyson and now Lennar. It seems that there is no stopping for these type of corporate bandits.

Employees are just pawns in a chessboard.

Get it straight folks - nobody is safe in any company, in any position, so make sure you save for a rainy day.

Grow your career and gain experience at each of the positions and be ready to move on. It is not personal, it is just business.

Lennar's CTO has no idea what he's doing. He's getting rid of people who have brought positives to the company all for the unknowns. PWC is a consulting company, meaning they are just going to build something that "works" for the time being and then going to scurry away for more money. He has done nothing so his thoughts are basically get rid of people to save a few millions and say that he saved millions at Lennar to apply to another company. That's exactly what he did at Tyson Foods before coming here, the guy should go to jail to be honest.

There is only 2 things PWC does well, powerpoint and client billing. Seriously, they'll have 3 meetings with 20+ consultants to discuss how to have the 4th meeting. That adds up quickly.

Yup,
The new CTO (Former Tyson Chicken guy) new idea is to hire 50 people a week for months. Then fire 20% of the people that have been there for many years and know the ins and outs of the company. Replaces the senior staff with fresh out of college kids that only rely on Chat-GPT to write their code for them and calls it a "new" approach.
He did the same at Tyson I.T. and left it in shambles.
