We can't wear hoop earrings, or wear our hair down!! What does that have to do with our performing our job duties and responsibilities??? Plus, WHY are we being threatened with termination of employment lf we don't open enough Credit Card Accounts???? No one is in the store, hello!!@

I never heard anything about not wearing hoop earrings or having your hair down, unless you work in food service and other than the Walnut Room in Chicago I don’t know of any Macy’s that still serve food??? The things I’ve seen sales associates wear…🙀 There was one associate named Aria, I used to referred to her as ar--la! SERIOUSLY! Wearing pleather leggings without a tunic 😜 , off the shoulder tops, slippers!!!
I’m old school, I still remember associates having to wear 3 pieces. Men had to wear sport coats and a tie, women had to wear hosiery! But I digress.
As far as credit, it’s CrAZY! I’m so glad that I’m in sales support, how management is constantly putting the thumb sc--ws on the sales staff to open credit. I know corporate is putting the thumb sc--ws on stores to open credit so it trickles down. When all that 🐂 💩 comes on my theatro I pull it off my ear! Like how can you be expected to open 17 credits a day when there’s no one in the store! Like who in the free world who shops doesn’t already have a Macy’s card!? Interest is insane!!! Ohhh there’s a reason selling point to sign up!🙀
When I was at Sears I saw many employees terminated or have their hours drastically reduced because they couldn't get enough credit apps. It's a horrible situation for all those involved. I used to tell my cashiers "you're not cashiers, your salespeople selling credit cards." I had enough of the harrassment on not only me but the cashiers as well so I told Sears to get lost and left. If Macy's starts harrassing me as well I'll tell Macy's to get lost too.
Macy's is getting desperate..trying to force employees get credit and dress certain ways. That's not the problem? All I can say for people who depend on Macy's to survive start job hunting now. As a part-time employee, who chose never to survive on an unstable company after being offered numerous full-time positions, do not let them threaten you on meeting goals and getting credit. You have leverage they cannot even get reliable employees through the door. The fact that you show up everyday is enough leverage. Oh I can play the retail game too. Meanwhile managers and captains stand around doing absolutely nothing. Let's see them get some credit or know what the heck is going on in their own departments.
Food services have a different dress code.
Is that true about the credit card apps. We can't force people to open cards,they either want one or they don't. It's been hard enough to even get bronze lately. I've had weeks when its been easy but other weeks its just difficult.
