Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

How is Jim McNerney still on the board of Directors?

He will go down to history as one of the worst CEOs in the history of the Boeing company.

Yet he’s on the board of Directors?

His decision to scrap a clean sheet 737 replacement design, which is what the vice president of commercial aviation was strongly recommending and going with a derivative of the 737 is the primary reason the company cannot sell a 737 vs an A320.

How can someone who made a decision that detrimental to the business be on the board of directors?

Per his wiki page:

McNerney has been a member of the Boeing board of directors since 2001. He is also a member of the board of directors of Procter & Gamble and IBM.

McNerney served as Chairman of The Business Council in 2007 and 2008.[12] He is a current member of the Northwestern University Board of Trustees, is a Trustee at the Center for Strategic and International Studies[18] and was appointed as Chairman of the President's Export Council by President Barack Obama.[19]

In December 2016, McNerney joined a business forum assembled by then president-elect Donald Trump to provide strategic and policy advice on economic issues.[20]

Maybe he stepped down in 2016.

The fact that the article and prediction that Boeing was headed to oblivion was written in 2015 was likely the main point...

Here's another prediction from 2007...from the last competent leaders and engineers at Boeing:

https://www.rbogash.com/boeing_delay.html

The point being that what Boeing is experiencing isn't a temporary problem or even fixable (although Boeing stock hawks are working hard to convince fools otherwise). Boeing chose this path to oblivion 30 years ago. Boeing has become irrelevant in aerospace and other companies have already taken their place.

HE, meaning McNarney, Is Not On The Board.
Meaning, the question is a lie and those who up-vote the lie are complicit.
OR
Extremely Stսpid to the point of it being an intellectual disability.

The latter is more on par for Boeing’s workforce these days.

Interesting fact...more Boeing orders/deliveries translates into greater negative profit and loss. No one is buying Boeing airplanes unless they have no choice and then only for a deep discount. Wonder how long Boeing can continue this charade in the hope of getting fools to buy and increase their stock price to enable their low life executives to bail with golden parachutes?

Better question...why is Boeing still in business? Corruption and Greed. Not like Boeing is a profitable business anymore. Public welfare would be far better protected if Boeing were shuttered.

Boeing claims their focus will now be improving the manufacturing quality of their 1960s design airplane... Sounds reminiscent of Sears.

I heard Ratheon is hiring. He should bring his pathetic self over that way to ruin that company more. Cheap blades for stock up kicks are not the answer. When will they understand the basics. Earned trust is a must.

Just went to Boeing's website to look up the board of directors; Jim McNerney is not on the board of directors anymore.

737 program is doomed . Never to go back in the high rate of production. But yet they still think they got it ! LMFAO ! Not enough skilled , not enough new employees that have the passion or drive. All General Managers / Managers/ Leads need to be replaced yesterday!! Pathetic!

Because he's directing Boeing to focus on defense. That's why they moved to Arlington. I doubt they care what happening to their consumer planes in the long term.
