Is it true McKinsey is being hired as part of a second round of layoffs initiative? I thought we were done with layoffs after STAR completed. Sounds like more layoffs are around the corner!

STAR wasn't about layoff. It was about restructure and reviewing, which brought RIFs. So just because STAR concluded, we cannot assume that RIFs will stop. Probably restructure will stop soon, but can't say if RIFs are in rear view mirror yet.
