Is is possible that Nielsen is planning the remove the visa workers (people on H1B, TN, etc.)? Does anyone have any info on this?

No one is exempt. Including Visa Workers.
My advice, no matter what your immigration status. Focus on finding another job. With your start date being the 1st of September.
Sitting and complaining about being made redundant will not change your situation so no point wasting your time and energy on it.
