Rework

Here is an example of how Office politics work inside Citi.
When a new project starts the management assigns to their favorites and some consultants. The "Favorite" claims he/she does architecture and the work is completed / initiated with their signature. They claim the benefits of completing the project.
Once the drama is over, the "Bloated project" is assigned to the rest of the team to fix.
The project gets so bloated that we have to do a complete rework on the code.

This is happening with all favorites, consultants and DEI employees.

“ I would prefer to be color blind and hire solely based on experience.” - - -most would agree with you on this but it’ll never happen. Jane has mandated that one way of another her political agenda will succeed. The “one way or another” translates into placing the unqualified candidate into a protective bucket where others do the work for them.

We have had to cast the wide net because those that would fall under the dei Umbrella didn’t even apply for the job. We have gone as far as hiring the “diverse” candidate to hit a quota versus a “non diverse “ candidate who was more qualified. Guess what happened next…that diverse candidate that didn’t have as much experience couldn’t handle the fast paced challenging environment and we are stuck unable to backfill due to this financial situation. I would prefer to be color blind and hire solely based on experience.

Jane does not like it when you talk negatively about DEI. Its the political win\win flagship that she likes to tout about. You are expected to tow the company line, make up for any shortcomings even if its caused via DEI non-qualified hires.
