Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Canadian Friends

Just FYI... for those who are federally regulated and not an engineer or others as laid out in the code, remember that you have a max allowable hours of work, which is 48.
If they've been working you more, even if you're overtime eligible or salary it doesn't mean youre allowed to work more than 48 in ANY given week. So... if you have your paystubs....
Recently the company just "woke up" to this rule, and it's applied to ALL federally regulated employees.

Do with it as you wish

48 hours a week…lol. Haven’t worked under 60 a week in 15 years.

OMG!
"Canadians are cheaper and work more hours. Therefore, some will be spared. Indeed, there is a lot of woke in the company. After these reductions it will be more of a grind."
You do know that US workers work two weeks more per year than those in Canada, don't you?

Dude what is even a “federally regulated” employee? You’re not making sense.

If you’re in Canada you are exempt from Employment Standards of your province if you’re working for a federally regulated industry like shipping, ports, ferry, banks, air transportation and yes pipelines and some more.

But you have to know which entity are you under? Enbridge has 500 legal entities and some are provincially regulated and some are federally regulated.

So what good does this information do for anyone? Are you saying we could somehow get back pay, or in light of recent events a better severance because some of us are federally regulated? Or are you just letting people know so they don’t have to work the overtime if they don’t want to?
