Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

RTO rumors

I have heard rumors that we will soon be required to return to the office 3 days a week. Announcement will come at the end of the month during the next town hall.

For those still at TU--You will be required to go in 3 days a week- and they will be tracking your IP address when you log in to onsite network to know you are there. (NOT card swipe or Biometric.) This will be a global requirement and they will be clamping down on employees not within reach of an office. (They have too many state employment liabilities with all of the remote workers now and are too cheap/inept to manage them.) While they won't be able to know how long you were in the office, your manager and you manager's manager ALL THE WAY UP TO THE TOP- can run a dashboard to know what % of the team and who specifically is and is not coming in. You WILL be tracked on that dashboard and they will use it against you for performance review, disciplinary, and other purposes. I know because I worked that project prior to having my position 'consolidated'. (*Ironically also based remote in a state where TU has NO physical or office presence...)

We were told to return to the office 2 days a week. The next month they announce layoffs.

Now there are rumors about more RTO days and layoffs…

If they announce that we must return 3 days a week in office, what do you think the next announcement will be?

This forum had several posts warning about layoffs right before they were announced.

Doesn’t this all sound familiar?

Is the March round in addition to the 10% notified back in November 2023?

What is your source and how reliable is it?

TU job ads TU say candidate is expected to be in an office a “minimum of 2 times per week”. If those ads start changing to 3x per week I’ll believe it.

Post from TheLayoff.com

This is NOT accurate. Associates who will be impacted in March have NOT been notified.

People seem to have it mixed up...

The 300+ impacted were also part of the 10% reduction, but the entire 10% impacted (~1.3k people) had been notified and the process was considered "completed" for the time being.

There may very well be new rounds of layoffs upcoming, but the initially announced 10% was completed as of November despite of people having different future separation dates.

To the person below - 10% reduction was completed with different separation dates right from last November. If that 300 was a case recently in Feb, they would’ve mentioned everyone again with a meeting invite. It’s just for those who had separation dates in Feb. Also, TU sent out an email specifically saying they’re done notifying employees right after announcing RIF last November.

What source you have? Can you please elaborate with facts?

To those who do not think there will be layoffs upcoming, you are incorrect.

So far the company has announced 300 (est) job eliminations from the 10% transformation that was announced in November.

There are still another 1,000 through 2025.

Seems weird… I also believe that affected people were already notified in November and that was it for that round of layoff.

Please don’t spread fears and invalid rumors …unless you have a source

To the person who said 10% is not over yet. They did specifically mention that 10% layoffs would be done in November last year and they did so by providing employees with different separation dates till March. So, if they again do so - this ongoing cloud work with an already limited number of resources dedicated to that will be affected as well, and hiring contractors after this will never make it to the cloud this year.

Also, whatever you're saying - Do you have any valid sources?

Transunion has not let go of 10% yet. That was just started in November.

There are still another 1,000 people who will be notified.

Another round will occur in late March. I do not know the size or what specific departments, but November job eliminations and upcoming layoffs (to move positions to their off--shore locations) will continue this year

Hmm.. wasn’t 10% (1.3k) layoff already conducted ?

Or you meant another round of 10% or so cut is coming up again soon?

For the post about 1.3k layoffs in the US. Any detailed insights (what teams, etc)?

Much appreciated!

Rumors are that it will be 3x per week starting in May.

They are also on plan to lay off 1300 people from the US.

Makes perfect sense.

Don’t we already have this? People who live close to an office are expected to come in a couple of times per week.
