I've noticed a bunch of people complaining lately about being unable to relax and unwind properly over the weekends because of work stuff. You have to change that. If you keep up with this, you're heading straight for burnout town, and that could mean kissing your job, your health, or both goodbye. I get it, it's much easier said than done, but try to leave work where it belongs – at work. Take it from someone who's been at it for nearly three decades, it's the only way to keep your sanity intact.

Yeah. I try not too. Sometimes i do have to talk to my significant other about things and try not to do it for long periods of time. I think I am getting better about not caring as much and saying whatever to the mess we're in. Not worth the stress.
The way that you prove that you’re hardcore Citi is to work a ton of hours and not complain. Citi depends on that in order to succeed as much as they have so far.
In public forums, they stress work life balance and you see the HR emails on “taking regular breaks”. That’s all lip service to prove they care. On the backend, deadlines are shortened and aggressive and in order to meet those deadlines, you have to work the long hours. All the while they are laughing each time they flip that coin.
Its a game and you are the pawn. Something to be used and discarded at will. This is as good as its ever going to get in regards to how you are viewed. Don’t ever make the mistake on thinking that you are viewed other than anything more than a pawn.
This stress was deliberately designed by the Bora Bora team to drive attrition.
I also can’t plan any activities outside work hours since there are impromptu meeting to be had after 5pm. I can only safely make personal plans on Sunday. Monday-Saturday I have to be ad hoc after hours
I am in similar situation where I work beyond the 9-5 due to team members being overseas. Sometimes I need to sync with them to get answers for blockers on projects. It almost feels like I am always working 24/7 while also studying technology team uses when I’m not working to keep up with the work load. I don’t sleep well and it’s starting to chip away at my health. If I work only 40 hours, I am doomed to fail
What if you work crazy hours? Go home and have to log back in again. Only time I don’t think about work is when I sleep at night. Have to work weekends too somedays
