Forced camaraderie never works. So you have aggressive deadlines. You are under the g-n to get it done. You are forced to attend get-togethers, which cuts into the time in which you could be working to meet your deadline. So to make up for the time spent on the forced get together, you work longer hours and\or during the weekend and work life balance is out the window.
Citi has time-wasting, sometimes up to 4 hours in one day, get-togethers, lunches and get-to-know-you better events and activities where employees are forced to join "fun" activities and events. This is forced fun and Not fun at all. Quite often the questions and activities involve divulging personal or private information about ourselves.
Every MD is angling to get that ultimate expression of company loyalty and they believe that forced get togethers will do it. Often time after every forced get together the same manager who made you go to it, after the fact asks “whats the status on your work and why is it taking so long?”
Everyone in your team standing outside the building in front of Citi sign, all wearing the same color polo shirt with the Citi logo on it, posing for a picture in the “thumbs up” pose. Give me a freaking break.
