Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

So what's the word with the layoffs?

because everything seems business as usual, so have a lot of people been laid off already or are we on the verge of that still? I see no change

There were CRS layoffs in the past week. Their last day is 2/29. I haven't heard the exact layoff count.

Yes. I saw it happened to my colleague in 2008. Promoted from SVP to director then let go as pool of the targeted directors % to meet. Hard to believe but true.

Do they really promote the fire them later?
i saw this done once before during the financial crash. Many promoted to Director and SVP, then 6 months later announced layoffs. Most were gone.

Job market is hard out there. if you are still there, stay there.

I’m anxiously awaiting to get let go so I can retire. I feel bad for anyone that needs the job, what this company does to people is ridiculous. People have families to feed and bills to pay. You can’t focus in this type of environment.

More to come. Afraid this will never be over.

The big one comes in March. By the third week the new structure will be defined and the leftovers will be laid off. I believe we will also see people leaving for not being happy with their new roles.
