Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Thank you

Since being "cost optimized" on Halloween, I have found solice in this board knowing that we share a common story.

That is one where we were discarded, no longer needed. Not part of the family anymore. The method in which it happened was cruel. Not even a chance to say goodbye to colleagues that I was privileged to be part of their lives even outside of Teradata.

Now that is but a distant memory of good times. The reality now is different. With the money now all but gone, the hope of finding a role is as remote as ever. Hope is extinguished with every "thanks but other candidates are preferred".

So I just wanted to say thank you all on this board for bringing light into my otherwise dark world that I now find myself in. The days are not long now before my sun sets for one final time.

How is this not in the blackout period? It's 8 days after the books have been closed on Q4. TC has insider knowledge as to the status of what would be reported.

This is a crime of the highest order and must be investigated! Employees should question his motives, investors should be made aware of what's going on.

And the fact they haven't made any purchases themselves is a warning sign as to their confidence in the business and the direction Teradata is heading.

Don't give up. A sunrise is coming for you. You are so much more than a job - you are a child of God and you have a hope and a future. Keep the faith!

If OP is getting to the stage in the interview process where he's being told they decided to move forward with other candidates, I'd say he's doing pretty good. That means he's applying for the right jobs, his resume is getting bites, and he's making it past the HR screen. At this point he just needs to adjust his pitch / answers based on the feedback he gets during the interview process and it shouldn't be long before he gets a job. Sure things have tightened up out there but companies are still hiring.

Trust me when I say you are better than the sc-m ELT that have ruined the once great company. You can hold your head high.

The ELT will forever have the stain on their resumes that they were in charge of a company that failed to compete. Imagine how embarrassed TC is as CRO that under his watch revenue has gone backwards!

The ELT are failures of the highest order

You will find a much better organization to work for. Don’t give up. Take some time to recharge. You’ve basically been trapped in an abusive relationship. Start by reading Who Moved My Cheese.

I wouldn't let the ELT and their minions win. They walk and talk sm--k and soon some of them will be in jail which will prove what corrupt lives they lead.

Hold your head high as you have a big advantage. You actually know the market and the technology. So take that knowledge to a competitor and help to put that final nail into the teradud coffin.

If it makes you feel any better. ELT and the BoD ran Teradata into the dirt with poor leadership and management. It wasn't your actions that contributed to being laid off.

Both the ELT and BoD are looting Teradata by giving each other stock options while putting lipstick on a pig to cover their incompetence. Wall Street is onto them now and the lawyers are sniffing around.

Do not let this company and its immoral so-called leaders define who you are. Most importantly, do not let them write the ending to your life’s journey. The great thing about the sun is that it does rise everyday and you can start anew. I pray that you see your ordeal as a new beginning. God Bless.

I myself was laid of on Halloween, I lost my team, my great colleagues (my team and my colleagues being the main reason why I stayed with Teradata so long) and I'm also still looking for a new position.

It's understandable that the current job market can be discouraging, but please try to hold on to hope. Rejections can be disheartening, but they don't define your worth or future possibilities. Consider exploring new opportunities and avenues, and don't hesitate to seek assistance in your job search. There are ex-Teradata colleagues who now work in various IT companies and will certainly be happy to help you find a new job that suits you well. We are still one big family that helps each other.

Your presence matters, and your story is not over. If you can, please talk to someone close to you about what you're going through. They might be able to offer support, understanding, and perspective. You don't have to face this darkness alone.
