Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Class action lawsuit question

Does anyone know the process of starting a class action lawsuit against Optum. I am so sick and tired of seeing good employees being laid off, lives ruined and patient safety. Any input or advice is welcome!

The positive press from this lawsuit will be epic. Reporters need raw meat.

I think you would have to prove that the organization unjustly terminated you. Unfortunately, companies are allowed to streamline operations and reduce staff and redundancy as they feel fit. Yes the WARN notices are not always there but that’s because we are so spread out and so our layoffs. At least on my team, it’s always a person or two here or there. It’s not kind or extremely ethical but it’s also not different than what a ton of other huge corporations do.

You’d have more luck to influence change by getting on the board and tying executive compensation to meeting goals without layoffs.

Find a job and company you enjoy going to work for each day. Stop looking for Easy Street. Some of us like our jobs and pay.

Two words....Good Luck. You are an at-will employee. In the US labor law, at-will employment is an employer's ability to dismiss an employee for any reason, and without warning, as long as the reason is not illegal. It also means you can quit at anytime.
