You don't deserve this. You work hard, had a belief that the strategy is working because SM told you so.
But that facade has well and truly been smashed today and the game is up for the ELT.
The cuts from here on in will be more aggressive. No job will be safe and you'll see whole teams simply disappear overnight. Smart people will exit and join the thousands of top performers that the company has let go since SM came onboard.
Hold your head up high knowing that you gave it your best shot. You were simply let down by really bad executive leadership.
But sleep easy in the knowledge that some of those ELT will soon be standing in front of a judge pleading not to be sent to jail
