Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Next layoff date?

Does anyone know if layoffs are officially scheduled for March 20th or is it just a rumor? Also, was there any announcement regarding layoffs on Feb 20th? How can we verify this information and prepare? Any insights on where to find reliable updates or tips on navigating this would be greatly appreciated.

The last I heard is that demotions will happen and promotions too, but with no changes in salary.

Is the message posted by @1cig+1r3ZB7TT true? Demotions are making me pretty depressing. About 5 to 6 years back, getting promoted from VP to SVP was the toughest compared to a jump from any other title to higher. All that is now diluted and even a lot of ICs are hired as directors from JPM etc. Now when it comes to demotion, everyone who worked hard in the past will also lose their achievement. Really depressing news, if it is true.

What about CTI. Lots of Directors who do not have any clue on how to get things done. Looks like the higher designations in CTI are given very generously.

Job losses are occurring everywhere and every week. Week of Feb 20 or so will be major number of people leaving and other shifted around then week of March 20 or so last major let go. So there are two major dates of mass layoff and demotion processes. Many will be forced to take a demotion or they are out and we will continue see thr same bs layering of mds trying to save their A$$es..many will force to be svp or and IC no more people managers at C14 and below ranks. Only those mdds left will be people leaders. After these major changes there will be still laid offs left and right around 6 more layoffs into 2026. At least 20k people will be let go from O&T alone

Heard some were happening end Feb and end of March. I’m 100% remote without a location within my state to report to so there’s a good chance I will get axe. It will su-k but the uncertainty will be over. I’m so tired of this.

The next two rounds are about job shifting. After people are matched to the new roles that fit the organization. Those left over are suppose to be given a chance to find a role in the company with whatever gaps are left to be filled. So I expect in feb no job losses but at the end of March there will be. 90 days severance. And the shareholder get the remaining two quarters of the year to see what improvements are made.
