Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

Giant Eagle Giving Away $10,000 In Perks to 10 People But They…..

How nice. Giant Eagle is giving 10 people $10,000 in perks but they don’t even pay a living wage to its store employees. You know the company is sad when the customers come before the employees

You’re telling me many of those baggers make it up to corporate management? No wonder Giant Eagle is sc--wed up.

START your career is correct. Many people start as a bagger and make their way up through the company into retail or corporate leadership positions. They don't sit as cashier positions and complain that they don't make enough to pay for a house, car, family etc.

This site is something else. I thought it was to talk about layoffs or future layoffs and things, not a bi--hing box for people to complain they don't make enough. Nobody is holding anybody back from working at another retailer you think pays more.

Thanks for explaining the FLSA of 1938. I always get confused when I see Giant Eagle advertising for jobs and they say “Start Your Career Here”.

You shouldn't expect a "living wage" from a job at Giant Eagle retail. You're probably someone who expects to live off of a minimum wage job. It was NEVER intended to be that. Democrats are trying to push that mantra.

Go look up the FLSA of 1938 and why min wage was created.

I can only imagine how much more prices at Giant Eagle would go up if they decided to pay a living wage to the employees.
