Thread regarding VMware layoffs

How are things going over in the UK?

Any idea what’s the acceptance rate for the offers?

I bet Hock is all confused. Thinking he is the Elon Musk of hardware and Bill Gates of software and wonders why nobody loves him

Sales get paid more than there colleagues at the same level.
Then they get commission on top
Sales have got better pay increases these last few years, when the rest of the UK was told of a 3% limit.
Sales get better "perks" - travel, team "meetings" in the pub even when other teams had travel bans and not allowed to meet there team.

Suddenly less paid colleagues got more RSUs and sales are crying foul...

There are some fantastic Sales in the UK and some shockers. Its a shame so many are going, but do not blame it all on only 68 RSUs. That's about £68k before tax, its more than the car allowance over 4 years.

It's either a complete fu-k up or BC have played a blinder and will have a very small wage bill in April.

Majority of AEs & SEs declined, most PS offers were insulting, if this was a fu-k up I've no idea how BC will come back from this as the feeling towards them is one of deep resent.

The general themes are : lack of belief in strategy

You can’t change stupid.

Sales will disappoint the emperor, Tanzu will be gone in a year from Broadcom, either sold off to some su---r or just a small write off for Broadcom to be gone of the cluster F.

His management practices are medieval,

Very lord/serf-esque.

"You must work in the office"
"Unless we tell you to not come to the office, then you must work at home."

And to think vmware management still expects people to put in hours at home.
How naive are they?

A very sad day, so many declined not because we don’t believe in the solutions, but because the RSU offer was terrible for sales. PSO and TAM did well but AE and SEs decimated. Bear in mind they sell PSO and TAM. It feels id--tic of BC. So much account knowledge it will surely mean less PSO and TAM sold, accelerating cuts going forwards. I declined today because I was offered a poxy 68 RSUs

He is very hurt that so many UK folks don’t want to be his friend.

I don't want to be his friend either.
His management practices are medieval, and no one enjoys the work any longer.

Apparently Hock Tan is in tears and his team are struggling to cheer him up. He is very hurt that so many UK folks don’t want to be his friend.

From what we have seen it’s less than 20% - apparently there has been a crisis meeting in EMEA Tanzu to discuss the fall out. The general themes are : lack of belief in strategy, dissatisfaction with both regional and global leadership and unhappiness with the cuts in packages.

It doesn't look too good, let's just say that, maybe by design, maybe unexpected, who knows ...

My data indicates 13.4% acceptance rate.

Maybe as high as 15.6%.

Still analyzing the data.

Roughly 50% acceptance rate.

Crisis meeting to follow.
