Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

A lot of selfish people on this board who don't see the big picture! 😠

Karthik Rao makes $14+ million dollars per year. That's his compensation.
All the other executives in the C-Suite make between $4 million and $6 million per year.

How do you expect these people, who are obviously much better than the rest of us, to maintain their current lifestyles if they don't cut costs by firing a bunch of peon's during a period when Nielsen just isn't quite as profitable or growing as quickly as it was a couple of years ago?

You people don't get it! Second and third homes just don't buy themselves! Boats & BMW's are expensive! Have you even seen what it costs to live in Manhattan?

Why don't some of you people show a little compassion for the C-Suite during these times, and lay yourselves down on the sword so that Karthik isn't forced to see his paycheck dip below $10 million per year. That would be tragic. Do better.

Either YOU are a complete & utter fu-kwit OR you are a complete & utter fu-kwit🤪

Employees have had enough, everyone is stressed, tired and defeated.

Congratulations Nielsen, you’ve won.

“Thank you sir, may I have another”

Marty, Marty, Marty. Just because people are taking ten minutes out of their day to contribute here doesn't mean that they aren't spending the other hours working and/or looking for work. Why such backlash towards people who are sharing information, and in some cases, just venting? The language and tone of your post is good example of the "toxic posts" that you mentioned. I hope you learn humility, and in the process, find peace. All the best to everyone.

Plot twist: it was a genuine post from Karthik's loyal butler who just wanted to stick up for his boss. Karthik saved his life and took him under his wing, and he's disgusted with us. He did not expect these responses.

wild how people bootlick a CEO just because they’re a CEO. Doesn’t matter if they fail and destroy a business, they’re still deserving of the boot lick!

Karthik and Sujit only care about bringing all the jobs to the motherland of India. They make me sick! They don’t care about the people that have busted their as--s for 20+ years in the States. They’ve already tried this experiment of laying off Americans and hiring from Mumbai TWICE. They know the outcome won’t be different. The company will self destruct and they’ll get a nice parachute out of it. It’s all Maddening and it’s he-l for me and my family!

Pride in Self, I would argue that a CEO who's overseeing a downturn so significant they have to take these drastic workforce reduction measures isn't earning his salary at all, and is actually a failure. But what do I know. I'm just a schlub that's about to lose my job here after 15 years.

It's hilarious how some people can't tell the difference between sarcasm and genuine grief.

It just goes to show the level of intelligence all of these keyboard warriors have, most of which will be laid off. I haven't been laid off and not sure if I am. All I know is that I started looking for a job back in January and have 2 offers. So even if I am laid off I'm OK.

This wouldn't have been possible if I spent 8 hours a day on this site whining about how I have 20 years experience and how I am not set for digital and digital changes and then berate the company that's paid my salary for 20 years.

Do something constructive and apply for another job rather than staying at Nielsen and constantly taking it up the backside and complaining about it, only to come back the next day and take some more of it.

Changes happen. As times move on. Deal with it. Get with the times. You old dinosaurs probably all still own those old Nokia's with those changeable faces.

90% of these Toxic posts are most likely from audience measurement. Who most likely have only ever worked for Nielsen and know no better.

The 1960's called. They want you and your linear working practices back....

"a well earned compensation package."

Did you actually type that with a straight face or you just trolling?

Do better? Making executive decisions on the daily , holding long meeting and being accountable for P & L's. Working with large clients ? They're held to account daily and you come on here complaining about a well earned compensation package.
Times are tough and business cycle's change you just got caught in it.
For myself I am working at a feverish pace to find new work and move from the past. this ship is going down , get your severance (life jacket ) and find greener pastures. we all have talent remember that
