Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Do you want a litmus test for Management?

With all that we employees have endured - the constant cuts, constant loss of capacity, constant “transformation” and now outsourcing and the degradation of all of our systems and data….if you want a litmus test for the sincerity and the commitment of management to “walk the walk” I have it for you!

With all we have endured, how would you feel if management chose this time to BUY A NEW, FANCY CORPORATE JET JUST FOR THEM???

Not a shuttle to get work done, a new jet to go with the others they already have, with a price tag in the tens of millions.

I assume you need hanger space, pilots, maintenance, etc.

Certainly this cannot happen, not now, right? And if it did, what would you think of the leaders of your company?

How out of touch and privileged must you be to ask for us to do without basic needed resources to do our job, and chose this time, the “Elliot” time to add a fancy plane for your elitist use only?

But that won’t happen, right? No real leader could do this, right? Wanna bet? The little birds are talking, they say it’s already done.

How do you feel about management of this is true? Think of the experience co-workers who you could count on to do things right and solution the next problem or challenge we have. Think of what you can expect from the new outsourcing resource who didn’t know oil and gas much less Phillips!

The irony is, we are being asked to outsource everything - THEY CANT FLY COMMERCIAL! The INSOURCE white glove first class elitist air service for 8 people at the cost of 10’s of millions of dollars a year!

I heard they got a ki-ler deal on a Boeing jet. Missing a few bolts, but it’ll fly.

Excellent justification. You should apply for an ELT position when the next one gets canned for ethics vio’s.

I haven’t seen the AFE, but let me take a stab.

JUSTIFICATION -

  1. Everyone agrees this is a good idea (everyone that matters, that is to say, all of us..who get to ride on the new, additional private jet).
  1. The seats have massagers! This is not only cool, but is ergonomic and therefore a safety item which will help me reach my safety goal (note to my assistant - keep for EOY write up, change goal to “on target”)
  1. Onboard ice maker - it makes SONIC ICE! (Isn’t this cool?)
  1. Only costs $25MM or so ( for initial purchase). We can use the same pilots because WE REALLY DONT USE ALL OUR PLANES AT ONCE UNLESS WE ARE HAVING THE ANNUAL “ELT RACE TO STONEY ISLAND and EXOTIC ITEM SCAVENGER HUNT”. There is another savings right there…use the same pilots (put in year end accomplishments)
  1. Restroom for 2…..not 2 restrooms. It’s big enough for “discreet meetings” which may keep future ELT indiscretions more “discreet”. (This is PRICELESS)

COST JUSTIFICATION:

This is “self funding”…almost.

  1. Cut another 25 people across finance through “attrition” so as to not make the news. (Make conditions worse, so they leave “on their own”. 25 (worthless peasants) x $250k is $6.2MM.
  1. Cut 25 more in IT, refinery maintenance, health services, and any other needed function. This is another $6.2MM
  1. Hire 6 in commercial who don’t do anything at $400k each, this gets you to a total savings per year of $10MM - about what. You need to justify this purchase, hangar space, maintenance and then - SEAT MASSAGERS, SONIC ICE, and “SAUCEY BATHROOMS” FOR ALL (well, for all ELT members that is).

Again, I haven’t seen the AFE, but, I think I nailed it!

This, folks, is your leaders in action! No joke, this is what these people, who care about you and our SHAREHOLDERS are doing as we speak. It is almost too much to be believed.

Honestly, how can they act as if they care about the good of the company…plan this nonesense…and sleep at night?

Our energy in action, work for the greater good, value honor commitment, (need I go on?)

You can get to Stoney Island quicker and with fewer emission now. They need the utmost in reliability and comfort.
Unlike us dweebs down with boots on the ground fighting their janky kits they leave us with. Can’t even weld up the dumpster correctly after the bottom burns out.

Stony Island and a fancy new jet. Nothing is too good for our ELT.

You could buy a lot of credits and have lots of money left over for what that jet has to cost.

The wine is better on p66 airlines.
Brewed from the grapes of Bigman Gs hill country ranch fertilized by all the squeaky engineers who were buried in the grapevine fields.

I’ve always known they’re hypocrites, but this far exceeds anything that I thought could happen.
