Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

When will we finally know?

When will we finally find out exactly what is going to happen and when? The wait is becoming unbearable.

@qiy+1qzxbUN3 - I survived 2 layoffs at my previous employer and I also know how it is handled at few other companies. You know the news about re-org and one fine day you will get a meeting invite and a note is read by senior executives why your role is redundant - that’s it.
Here at Citi is weird, u get to know bits and pieces of info and lot of speculation. I am not sure this is the direction from BCG or Citi leadership strategy.

It is clear many people have not been in corporate america very long. Those of us who have been in Fortune 500 companies since the early 2000s have experienced the various ebbs and flows. This is what you sign up for when you join a big publicly traded company. The great benefits and job stability come with the risk of layoff cycles. You are NEVER safe, no matter where you are. In this case, we happen to have been taken on a bit of a roller coaster ride because Jane and her minions are desperate to raise the stock price and change the narrative on Wall Street. Layoffs happen all the time, you just typically don't see this much fanfare about it throughout the process.

Don’t you finally realize. You’re never going to know when you’re going to get pushed out the door at Citi. It could be tomorrow, two weeks, two years, you’ll never know. The current queen and lords of Citi will shape the serfdom how they want to and when they want to. They don’t even put on the appearance and pretend you have control of your destiny in this place anymore. This will NEVER change until the board of directors get sick of the nonsense and that’s not gonna happen.

You're not meant to know the full details. You guys have never been through a layoff. Companies don't come in and say persons a-s in this department are being cut. You don't know until it's your time, so quit speculating and wondering.
