2U dropped 54% in 2019 after acquiring Trilogy the same period it announced lower expectations of revenue for the year. It then acquired edX while facing billions in a settlement to stockholders over lying about the value.
But sure, go off on DEI.
Mass layoffs over and over are due to poor leadership. The end.
Can the anti-dei racists please go rant on discord? I mean we don’t need this sh-t on top of being stressed about lay offs. You truly are a sick individual to use this forum in this way. I won’t even speak to what I think of your opinions - as this is NOT THE PLACE (Also stepping away to vomit)
Post ID: @2kyl+1qzhtekL - we're always told ( as a civilized society) that it's important to hear both sides of a 'debate.'
Thanks for providing the insight from the privileged side of the aisle?!
Before responding back, please give me a few minutes to step away and vomit, k?!
Re: manager/direct report question - Last time, I was told the day before that “my team would be impacted” but wasn’t given any names. Found out when they got their calendar invites and texted me. I had no bearing on the decisions. People managers have very little insight into anything that goes on. I’d guess it’s all at the VP level and above in terms of who’s in the know.
Does a manager not know about their direct report being laid off until they do? How does that all work?
I checked calendars and saw that HR business partners that have to tell people they’ve been laid off have their calendars blocked from 9:30-3 EST tomorrow.
I guarantee you the last thing on Pauls mind is DEI - those days are over.
right when Chip told us that bogus story about why we needed to start DEI at 2u - is exactly when you can mark and data point the downfall internally of 2u. We went from a 4 billion evaluation to today we sit at 77$ million - Go Woke Go Broke
I wonder if top exec are getting paid incentives to keep DEI going like other execs at other big corporations are without telling their employees
Thats why they shove DEI down our throats - they are getting paid to do so
I've never seen a WARN notice, not even when they cut 20% of the workforce in 2021, unfortunately. My best guess is that the "remote" nature of 2U means they circumvent those lists.
For the ppl in the back, if not now - when? Just prepare yourself because even if you don't get let go there is Zero chance you'll get a promotion, or a cost of living raise, you might get one of those "not bonus, bonuses" where they give you $100 (pre-tax) and expect you to kiss their feet for their generosity.
@1akz+1qzhtekL WARN is only if it’s 500+ individuals or over like 30% of the company. While there will be a lot, if like the last round it will be under 500
Are they not submitting WARN notices? Saw nothing on Maryland government website.
I've heard Wednesday as well
@vat+1qzhtekL 75% of U.S.
Any idea on % of workforce?
